About
I am semi-retired and finishing up a career in the fixed-income markets, risk management consulting, and bank supervision. On this site I have posted articles/papers selected from reputable think tanks and public institutions on policy topics that affect our everyday lives. Thanks to the internet and free access to professional research, lots of plain English writing is available to anyone wanting to grasp the ‘economics of an issue’ . This site is intended for students and the curious who want to better understand the public policy issues that seem to be always up for debate (such as the minimum wage or healthcare policy), would like a dose of economics, but sense that the field is either not accessible to non-economists or is too often polluted with political bias or just sloppy analysis.
This site seeks to address those challenges for select topics. I plan to expand the topics over time. The ‘Selection Criteria’ tab explains how I choose the articles & papers posted to this site.
